Hacienda El Carmen Hotel & Spa

This place is absolutely gorgeous. We were stunned from the moment we drove into the property with how beautiful this place was. I can not imagine how much afford is put in daily to keep up the authenticity while providing a top notch hospitality.

The place is just beautiful, very old Hacienda with an amazing architecture. It’s very pleasant for a getaway outside Guadalajara or a magnificent wedding venue. Food is good but not great, the service was very attentive with us the whole time. They have tours at certain times a day.

This is a wonderful place to spend a luxurious weekend. The expansive grounds are beautiful. There is a pond with paddle boats, and a 6 hole golf course, and there are beautiful horses to ride, and a swimming pool and hot tub. They also have a first class spa at the hotel. Their restaurant has beautifully prepared dishes and excellent service. We absolutely loved this amazing place.

Looked amazingly well taken care of. We made a huge mistake only staying for 1 night as we didn't get to experience the whole of their services. But the staff was very nice and I'm sure they would have been more than happy to help with whatever we needed. They don't speak amazing English but my broken spanish was plenty to understand each other I think. The surrounding land is still used for farming so the sugarcane fields burning in the distance was quite a sight. But be ready for a charming level of farm mixed in. We were woken by a rooster and there were some bugs around but nothing out of control by any means.

We had the pleasure of having our wedding here in October of 2024, and we can’t say enough great things about this venue and staff. The owner Monica is so welcoming and is always around to make sure things are running smoothly. Jaime, the coordinator, really knows what he’s doing and has great taste for decorations and setup. We hosted our friends and family from all over North America for the weekend. It was important to me that the guests had something to do while we were getting ready for the wedding and Hacienda el Carmen does not disappoint. Our guests had so much to walk through and discover around the property, they were able to visit with horses and feed them carrots, Monica took some of the guests on a tour of their distillery and for others looking to relax there is a full spa providing spa services as well as a pool to relax by. The spa staff are amazing and we really enjoyed our massages as well. There are so many spots for the ceremony it was difficult for us to choose!! There are gorgeous views from the second floor bedrooms and all rooms are beautifully decorated and kept in great shape. Water pressure was amazing all the time and the rooms are truly clean. The food is phenomenal and our guests raved about every meal served here. Overall this place met and exceeded our expectations and our wedding felt like a dream. The most memorable weekend of our lives.

The building was built around the 1950s. The power goes out for a split second randomly. Not in my room for anything other than sleep so I dont even know how often it happens. In 3 days its happened 2 times. Location is far from most major towns but it is more than worth the extra mile! The rooms are refurbished from whatever they had back when it was built for originally. Service is more than excellent and the employees are very kind. No one here really speaks any English though so don't go there expecting that and getting upset please, they don't need to hear it. Almost all the food is grown, processed, and cooked straight from their gardens and animals such as chickens eggs for example. Very down to earth place and great for photos!!!

This hotel is magic, mystery, surprise (in the best possible way). Every detail was attended to and cared for during our stay. The rooms are well appointed, the grounds are fabulously maintained, the food and surroundings are majestic. The chef accommodated our dinner requests, the meals were accompanied with wonderful live music, and the service was top notch. Staying here is like taking a step back in time- but with modern comforts. Please go here! Prepare to relax and step away from the stresses of daily life. I've stayed in too many hotels to count, and this one is at the top of my list. I will recommend it to anyone and everyone I know!
